May 18, 2019 Proclaimed as New York Dance Parade Day
At a press conference on May 15, 2019 in front of New York City’s City Hall, Greg Miller (Executive Director of the nonprofit organization behind the parade) was presented with a certificate declaring May 18th as New York Dance Parade Day.
Greg Miller read back some of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s words from the certificate:
New York is the proud home of people who hail from every corner of the map who speak a multitude of languages and represent a wide array of backgrounds and beliefs. This unparalled multiculturalism is the source of our singularity and strength. It is reflected in our dynamic cultural landscape.
I’m delighted to join in celebrating the different artistic heritage of New Yorkers at the 13th Annual New York Dance Parade.
