On this day following Tropical Storm Isaias’ path through NYC we took a stroll through Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. With flood, wind and tornado warnings the storm managed to knock out power to millions of homes and wreck havoc upon cities and neighborhoods.
As would be expected the destruction in the form of downed trees was evident but nowhere near as bad as one might think it to be.
Branches, limbs (ranging from giant to small) were plenty in number. We only spotted two fully toppled trees, but then we only traveled so far through the park.
On the job were members of the parks department clearing up and gathering smaller limbs. Good to see they were already at it. From the looks of it, they’ve a lot of work ahead of them.
