(November 7, 2019, New York, NY)  The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is pleased to host the annual fundraising Tribute Dinner for Episcopal Charities of New York which will take place on Tuesday, November 12 at the Cathedral.
Episcopal Charities provides critical funding and operational support to strengthen nearly 100 community-based human service and youth programs working to transform the lives of more than 1,000,000 children and adults in need each year on a non-sectarian basis.
This year’s honorees are:

  • The Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry
    Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church
  • James A. Baker, III and Susan G. Baker
    61st Secretary of State and 67th Secretary of Treasury: Co-Founder and Past Chair, National Alliance to End Homelessness

Approximately 700 people are expected to attend the dinner, which is a celebration of civic and corporate commitment to the needs of less-fortunate New Yorkers.  The dinner chairs are Matthew Ailey, GenRock Capital Management, and Andrew W. Horrocks, University Property.
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the Cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.  It is chartered as a house of prayer for all people and a unifying center of intellectual light and leadership.  The Episcopal Diocese of New York, of which Episcopal Charities is the outreach arm, includes nearly 200 congregations and 50,000 people in Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island and Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.
