The New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning is Set to Return in July, 2021 !
It’s been announced this past week that the annual Festival of Ballooning at New Jersey’s Solberg Airport will be taking place from July 23 – 25, 2021 due to the lifting of restrictions and the ongoing mass vaccination against COVID-19 that’s been taking place.
Unlike last year, when the festival was canceled for obvious reasons, folks near and far will have something wonderful to look forward to this Summer. It’s been a fave of ours for years and years and we’re excited about the news.
On hand, over the weekend, will be the usual Friday fireworks, 5k run and music performances.
Additional updates will be posted within our site as well as on our dedicated NJ Hot Air Balloon Festival page here…
The following was culled from their COVID-19 Update page:
Is the festival on? Yes, it is. The New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning returns to Solberg Airport the weekend of July 23 – 25. With contingency plans, if necessary, to move to late summer or early fall.
Relevant, recent news. Governor Phil Murphy announced that they will allow 30% capacity for outdoor venues starting April 2nd and is looking to steadily increase these capacities as these vaccinations are excellerated and weather continues to warm up. The Festival takes place at the Solberg Airport, whose property includes 744 acres, within its contiguous grounds, so social distancing is no problem. We remain extremely optimistic that the event will take flight July 23 – 25, 2021. Also, effective as of March 19th, he is lifting capacity for indoor dining and other indoor businesses such as salons, gyms, casinos, and amusement sites from 35% to 50%.
