Revel Moped Rental Opens For Business in NYC Again
On August 27, the Revel moped rental company in NYC posted on Twitter that they’d be opening for business once again. This comes weeks after the company had ceased its business due to safety concerns brought on by ridership-related accidents and deaths.
A number of their tweets yesterday had the following to say:
Today we’re relaunching Revel in the city where it all began. We’re rolling out new and enhanced education, safety, and accountability features, and there are a few things you’ll have to do to start riding again. (1/3)
You’ll have to complete our in-app safety training, designed to sharpen your skills and your knowledge of the rules of the road. You’ll also have to take a Helmet Selfie before each ride (and one of your passenger, if you have one) and upload it in the app for us to check. (2/3)
To read about more changes, like our expanded lessons program and community reporting tool, visit http://gorevel.com/safety. This is just the start- we’re always working to improve your Revel experience and will be continuing the conversation about safety. See you out there! (3/3)
