NYC’s First Lady Chirlane McCray Gets the COVID-19 Vaccine
Today, the Mayor’s wife Chirlane McCray received her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at Kings Country Hospital in Brooklyn.
Joining her was Jean Alexander of the New York Caribbean Center and Jeanette Rivera of St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
“We’re so glad to be here today at King’s County Hospital Center, and I want to thank everyone, the doctors, the nurses…it was so easy, Kings County Hospital staff were so warm and welcoming, and made it so easy. for us to do this, fill out our application, get our card and our follow up appointment, and here we are, and it was just a pinch, all of us said the same thing, we barely felt it, so there really is nothing to be afraid of,” said the first lady.
“We want to do this for our families, we want to do this for our loved ones, and of course, we want to do it for our city, this is the only way we’re going to come back if everyone who’s eligible gets vaccinated. If you want to find out if you’re eligible all you have to do is call 877-Vax-4NYC. Call that number, find out if you’re eligible, and sign up. It’s a shot of love. Thank you.”
Posted on her Twitter account was a message urging New Yorkers to get vaccinated.
I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and I am overcome by a sense of relief. These are shots of HOPE for our city and we are urging every New Yorker to get one when eligible.
