The Metropolitan Opera Returns to NYC Parks: 2025 Summer Recital Series

June 9, 11, 13-16, 2025

Various Locations

Presented in collaboration with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage

The Met’s beloved Summer Recital Series returns this summer with six free outdoor performances across New York City’s parks. In partnership with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage, the Met brings opera’s rising stars to local audiences in an accessible and festive setting.

This season features two groups of performers: soprano Tessa McQueen, mezzo-soprano Hannah Jones, bass-baritone Sunghoon Han, and pianist Mariam Bombrun for the first set of concerts, and soprano Janai Brugger, tenor Jack Swanson, baritone Benjamin Taylor, with Met assistant conductor Howard Watkins at the piano for the second.

All recitals are free and open to the public, with no RSVP required. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, as seating is not guaranteed.

The Summer Recital Series is made possible through the generous support of the Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation, honoring Mrs. McGraw and her son, John. Additional support comes from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the City Council, and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
