Cathedral community and clergy gather for prayer vigil for Israel and the Gaza Strip.
In response to the devastation unfolding in Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Episcopal Diocese of New York invite the local community to observe a peaceful prayer vigil on Tuesday, October 17, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on the West Front Stairs at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th St.) in Manhattan.
The Most Rev. Hosam Naoum, Archbishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, has asked the churches in the Anglican Communion to observe Tuesday, October 17 as a Day of Fasting and Prayer for peace, reconciliation, and an end to war. Local community members are invited to join the bishops, clergy, and people of the Episcopal Diocese of New York for a the vigil on the Cathedral’s front steps to pray for Israel, Palestine and all nations impacted by the horror of war.
