Clio Art Fair Returns to New York with Double Edition and Groundbreaking Performance Project

May 1–4 & May 8–11, 2025

528-532 West 28th Street, Chelsea, NYC

This spring, Clio Art Fair, the acclaimed platform for independent and self-represented artists, makes its much-anticipated return to New York City with a bold and expanded format. For the first time, the fair will host two consecutive editions across back-to-back weekends, from May 1–4 and May 8–11, 2025, at its Chelsea home at 528-532 West 28th Street. Each week will showcase an entirely new lineup of over 35 international artists, promising collectors, curators, and art lovers a fresh and dynamic experience throughout both editions.

Staying true to its mission of supporting artists outside the traditional gallery system, Clio Art Fair offers an intimate and accessible environment where art enthusiasts can connect directly with creators. This year’s presentation will feature over 250 works from 70+ independent artists across a wide spectrum of contemporary styles and media, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installations. The artworks will range in price from $250 to $25,000, offering options for both emerging collectors and seasoned art buyers.

Adding an extraordinary layer of thought-provoking programming, Clio Art Fair 2025 will debut the performance series “Behave As If God Exists.” This innovative project will unfold over both weekends and aims to explore existential and social themes within the context of inclusivism and spirituality. Through immersive live performances, artists will engage audiences in reflective and challenging dialogue about the future of humanity, artificial intelligence, and shifting moral landscapes. Featured performers include Nadine Azoulay, Holly Crawford, Liz Miller, Denita Benyshek, Ornah, and Alexandra Holownia, each offering unique interpretations that bridge art and philosophy. Performances will take place on select evenings, inviting viewers into deep explorations of post-human ethics, identity, and faith.

The fair is globally recognized for breaking away from the commercialized norms of traditional art fairs. Without gallery booths, Clio emphasizes raw and direct artistic expression, granting each artist their own space to communicate their vision. Additionally, Clio remains at the forefront of modern transactions by continuing to accept cryptocurrency payments, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

Admission to Clio Art Fair reflects its dedication to accessibility. General admission for the public is free from Friday to Sunday on both weekends, while VIP and press previews on May 1 and May 8 offer early access and exclusive experiences for a modest fee of $35.00. Art professionals and press are also invited to attend free of charge by registering in advance.

More than just an art fair, Clio has earned a reputation as a supportive and inclusive space where emerging voices can shine. It attracts a growing audience of collectors, curators, and culturally engaged visitors seeking authentic and often unconventional perspectives on contemporary art. Praised for its democratic approach and commitment to architectural integrity—eschewing traditional booths for a more organic exhibition style—Clio remains fiercely dedicated to empowering independent artists and fostering meaningful connections between creators and audiences.

With its distinctive dual-edition format and the groundbreaking “Behave As If God Exists” performance program, Clio Art Fair 2025 promises to be one of the year’s most important art events in New York City. Whether you’re a collector, curator, artist, or simply an art lover eager to discover the cutting edge of contemporary expression, this is an unmissable celebration of art, philosophy, and human connection.
