Celebrate Jewish and Chinese Music on the Lower East Side!
Monday, December 25
2:00 pm
Museum at Eldridge Street
12 Eldridge Street
As the city shuts down on December 25th, the Museum at Eldridge Street in Manhattan’s Chinatown neighborhood comes to life for an afternoon of cross-cultural celebration for all ages!
This year, we are thrilled to welcome Margot Leverett’s New Klezmer Trio and a trio from Music from China in a debut collaboration that is sure to engage the whole family. Sing and dance along to lively Jewish and Chinese folk music, reimagined for a modern audience.
Both trios will perform their own sets, and then come together in exciting music-making, improvising new harmonies and sounds to end this not-to-be-missed musical experience!
Margot Leverett (clarinet, vocals), Peter Stan (accordion), Ron Caswell (tuba), Wang Guowei (erhu: 2-string fiddle), Sun Li (pipa: lute), Wang Junling (zheng: zither).
