El Museo del Barrio Celebrates 47th Annual Three Kings Day with “Spoken Word: The Power of Oral Tradition!”

El Museo del Barrio has announced the 47th Annual Three Kings Day Parade and Celebration, taking place on Friday, January 5th, 2024! This year’s theme, “Spoken Word: The Power of Oral Tradition,” honors the importance and significance of unwritten stories, fables, and traditions that enrich our communities.

Three Kings Day Parade in El Barrio

Join in for a vibrant morning:

  • 11:00 AM: The parade kicks off at 106th Street and Park Avenue, winding its way through the streets of El Barrio (East Harlem) to 115th Street and Park Avenue.
  • Expect to see: Majestic camels, colorful floats, lively music, and hundreds of enthusiastic participants celebrating the spirit of Three Kings Day!

Continue the celebration at El Museo del Barrio:

  • 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Enjoy a special live musical performance in El Teatro, the museum’s auditorium.

About the Three Kings Day Celebration:

Three Kings Day, also known as the Epiphany, commemorates the biblical story of the three wise men who followed a star to visit the baby Jesus. The celebration is deeply rooted in Latin American culture and is observed with joy and festivity.
