Artist in Residence Paul Winter and the Paul Winter Consort return to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for the 30th Annual Summer Solstice Celebration. This early morning concert marks the arrival of summer with a unique musical experience that begins in complete darkness and unfolds as the morning light gradually fills the Cathedral.

The event features a continuous flow of music performed from various locations throughout the Cathedral’s vast space. As the sun rises, light streams through the stained glass windows, joining with sound in a quiet, powerful welcome to the new season. The Cathedral’s Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, recently restored after a five-year hiatus, will return to this performance, played by Tim Brumfield.

Following the concert, a tea reception will be held in the Nave.

The event is finished.
