The Metropolitan Opera’s popular Summer Recital Series is back for its 15th season, offering five free outdoor concerts throughout New York City. This year’s series kicks off on June 18th and features established Met stars alongside rising talents from the prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.

The first two recitals will showcase the established vocalists. On June 18th at SummerStage in Central Park and June 20th at Brooklyn Bridge Park, soprano Leah Hawkins, tenor Mario Chang, and bass-baritone Michael Sumuel will perform. These singers impressed audiences earlier this season in leading roles from major Met productions. Met assistant conductor Dimitri Dover will accompany them on piano.

For the remaining three recitals, the spotlight shines on the next generation of opera stars. On June 24th at Jackie Robinson Park, June 26th at Williamsbridge Oval, and June 28th at Socrates Sculpture Park, audiences can enjoy the talents of soprano Brittany Olivia Logan, mezzo-soprano Hannah Jones, and tenor Matthew Cairns. These rising stars are all participants in the Met’s esteemed Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Accompanist Deborah Robertson will join them at the piano.

All concerts feature famous opera arias and duets, along with other beloved classical selections. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience world-class opera under the summer sky – for free!
