This winter, the Oratorio Society of Queens, accompanied by select members of the Forest Hills Garden Players, will usher in the holiday season with a captivating performance on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM. Set against the backdrop of the Queensborough Performing Arts Center, this festive event promises an afternoon filled with beautiful melodies and joyous celebration.

Under the skillful direction of Dr. Jin Byun, Artistic Director and Conductor, the 100+ member chorus will delight audiences with selections from Handel’s Messiah. The performance will also showcase the talents of esteemed soloists: soprano Inyoung Lee, mezzo-soprano Ryu-Kyung Kim, and tenor Evan Katsefes. The first half of the program is dedicated to the timeless excerpts of Handel’s masterpiece, bringing the rich, dramatic music to life.

In the second half, the audience will be treated to a medley of holiday favorites that includes “Christmas at the Movies”, popular hits like “Let it Go” and “All I Want for Christmas”, as well as spirited Chanukah songs. This segment captures the essence of the season, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. The combination of classical and contemporary pieces will make for an enchanting and heartwarming experience.
