NYC Summer Streets is Back this Summer of 2023!
Saturdays from July 29 – August 26

All Five Boroughs!
Summer Streets is back! This annual event, which involves the closing a stretch of street to vehicular traffic, is expanding this year to include additional dates and boroughs. In the past, it’s always taken place on three consecutive Saturdays within Manhattan. This time, those living in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx will have a chance to join in on the fun within their own borough.
As in years past, you should expect to encounter numerous activities and offerings from demonstrations and workshops to fitness classes, performances and more.
This is a great opportunity for photography enthusiasts to get some unique shots. One of my favorite spots is the tunnel and path leading around Grand Central Terminal. It’s not something you normally get to see on bike, skates, or foot, and it’s even better when you can take your time and enjoy it. There may likely be a special area you yourself might enjoy experiencing sans all the traffic.
