2023 Greek Independence Day Parade

Sunday, April 30

In the past, the parade has taken place on the upper east side of Manhattan

The NYC Greek Independence Day Parade is an annual event that celebrates the anniversary of the Greek Declaration of Independence from the Ottoman Empire on March 25, 1821, and the Greek War of Independence that followed. The parade showcases the Greek heritage, culture and achievements of the Greek-American community and attracts spectators of Hellenic and Philhellenic backgrounds.

The parade takes place along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and is sponsored by the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York. The parade features floats, bands, dance groups, dignitaries and celebrities. The parade also honors the contributions of Philhellenes who supported the Greek cause for freedom.
