New York State Daily Positive COVID-19 Cases Reaches Above 1,000 for First time Since June 5
Governor Cuomo today confirmed through his daily Coronavirus Pandemic Update that there were 1,005 new cases on September 25.
Coincidentally, I mentioned the same statistic yesterday. That is, within my posting about Governor Ron DeSantis’ reopening of Florida. I stated that New York, by comparison, hadn’t a daily number above 1,000 since it began its phased reopening.
Actually, New York’s first region to enter Phase One did so on May 15. New York City followed suit in early June.
Regardless, it was on June 5 that the state’s total number of new cases was above that benchmark with a number of 1,108 cases.
A bird’s eye view of this may indicate nothing to be concerned with considering how the state has been at or below a 1% infection rate for weeks. Yet, there are concerns in New York City with the rate soaring to 4-6% in certain neighborhoods.
