NY Governor Cuomo Announces More COVID-19 Milestones
NY Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced a number of new COVID-19 milestones for the state.
New York reached beyond its last record-high number of administered COVID-19 tests by managing 102,925 tests in one day yesterday.
The Governor also reported that 6 million bottles of New York State Hand Sanitizer has been distributed.
In addition, NY has reached its 36th consecutive day with an infection rate of below 1 percent.
“Testing is a cornerstone of our efforts to keep New Yorkers safe from COVID-19. The more testing you do, the more accurate a picture of the virus’ spread you have,” Governor Cuomo said. “Yesterday’s record-high number of tests helps the state make informed decisions to protect the welfare of New Yorkers, and helps them make informed decisions for themselves. But testing alone isn’t enough, and we need residents to continue to wear masks, socially distance and wash their hands. We will get out on the other side of this together, but in the meantime we have to stay New York Tough.”
Another item to be considered is the declining number of non-compliant establishments discovered by the Governor’s task force – a special team made up of State Liquor Authority Inspectors and State Police.
