Found at the Museum of the City of New York are more than 1.5 million paintings, prints, photographs, costumes, toys, rare books, manuscripts, sculptures, decorative arts objects, and other artifacts that comprise New York City’s historic treasury. Within this collection are: more than a million prints and photographs depicting all aspects of NYC from 17th Century to the present; a complete archival record of every Broadway production within the Theater Collection; and furniture, period rooms and many objects representing the history of material culture in NYC.
