Back for the first time since 2019, in living color with full on crowds of onlookers cheering on, is this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade heading south along its usual route with Balloons, Bands, Floats and Clowns galore.
Having skipped a full year, the parade was in full swing this week as tens if not hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and tourists stood on the sidelines in awe of the great big balloons in the sky. Along with the spectacle of those floating attractions were the many marching bands, clowns and floats; some of which had major and minor stars on board.
Yours truly enjoyed every second of this event since there’s nothing quite like this yearly event. That’s why so many look forward to it in person and on the home screen.
The procession began at its usual locale at Central Park West beside the Museum of Natural History on the upper west side of Manhattan. From there it continued down turning at Central Park South and again at 6th Avenue. Ending by Macy’s Department Store at Herald’s Square and 34th Street in midtown.
Normally, millions would commandeer the sidewalks along streets of the route but we’ve no idea how many might’ve been there this year considering the reason why last year’s celebration was a virtual one. COVID’s had enough of an effect on the Big Apple since the beginning of the pandemic. It’s with that in mind that we applaud this year’s celebration.
Here’s to praying that our recovery continues than wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season! <3
