Brooklyn, NY– Brooklyn Botanic Garden announces the return of Lightscape, the after-dark, illuminated spectacular that became an instant hit after its debut last winter. This year, Lightscape returns with a new illuminated trail and new works of art by both local and international artists. Returning to the spectacular will be the iconic Winter Cathedral and a larger Fire Garden.

Lightscape runs November 16, 2022, through January 8, 2023. This year, visitors will be able to enjoy special events and options including a Family Benefit Night, Anytime Entry tickets, and all-new packages with dinner at Yellow Magnolia Café.

Lightscape features a one-mile trail winding through BBG’s 52-acre landscape, animated by over a million lights, color, and music. Monumental light installations and vibrant, artistic displays highlight the Garden’s trees, landscapes, and architecture. Food concessions along the trail will offer seasonal treats.

Says Adrian Benepe, president and CEO of Brooklyn Botanic Garden: “We are thrilled to bring Lightscape back to Brooklyn Botanic Garden in partnership with Sony Music and WAD. The largest and most extravagant, artistic winter lights exhibition in NYC history, this distinctly Brooklyn-flavored celebration encourages everyone to find happiness and beauty, and create festive, fun gatherings with friends and family, at the darkest time of the year. We hope residents and visitors from around the region will make Lightscape at BBG an annual tradition.”

Launched at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London in 2014, Lightscape has sold out year after year across the U.K. and in Chicago. Brooklyn Botanic Garden is Lightscape’s only U.S. East Coast venue.

Lightscape tickets must be purchased in advance and time slots may sell out.

Nonmember regular admission tickets are $40 and $20 for children ages 3–12. BBG member regular admission tickets are $36 and $18 for children ages 3–12. Children 2 and under enter for free.
