The Winter Garden & Waterfront Plaza at Brookfield Place
Light Cycles is a dazzling light installation by internationally acclaimed artist and veteran theater designer Anne Militello. Originally commissioned by Arts Brookfield in 2013, the installation transforms the high reaches of the Winter Garden into a colorful kaleidoscope and illuminates the intricate structure of the atrium’s windows and Waterfront Plaza. Hues of sapphire, amethyst, ruby, and emerald glitter and reflect from the hanging mirrored light disks along the front of the Garden’s glass wall like charms on a bracelet, entrancing through a softly evolving manipulation of color and texture. To celebrate the holiday season, Arts Brookfield has commissioned another spectacular color palette by Militello to debut in December.
