This week, word came that the Hester Street Fair would be returning to its usual location.

With limited capacity this Summer event that’s looked forward to by so many will be opened to the public not one day, as has been the norm for so long, but two days.

Usually taking place on Saturdays the fair will be opened on Sundays as well.

According to their latest email, they’ll be planning some special evening events on weeknights.

This site has always listed their scheduled every season and we’re happy to see them back!

The events page on their site shares the following: “”Hester Street Fair will return for it’s 11th season operating both Saturdays and Sundays from August 15th till October 31st””

The Mayor, on July 9, had announced the cancellation of large events through to the end of September due to the COVID-19 Crisis and the effect such venues would have upon the Open Streets/Open Restaurants programs. This mandate included events, such as street fairs, using up more than a block’s worth of space.

Hester Street’s latest newsletter had the following to say:

“”We have all endured an extremely trying past few months, and without a doubt could all use a little more normalcy and some fun to go along with it. As NYC continues to lead by example for reopening businesses and protecting our people in the process, we can proudly say that the Hester Street Fair will be re-open for business, starting this upcoming Saturday, August 15th. We’ll also be opening our gates to the community every Sunday and are planning some special evening events to happen on the weeknights.

Join us for the late-but-better-than-never Opening Day of Hester Street Fair! Known for starting and supporting many creative pursuits, music, and small businesses, we strive to serve the area no matter what. Our small businesses need the support and we could all benefit a little bit from some safe activity outside of the house! You might just catch the entrepreneurial bug yourself… the fair is always a great place to find inspiration and make that connection you didn’t know you needed.””
