Gracie Square Art Show 2017 – Day 1: A Visit with some of the artists

Today was the first day of the 45th annual Gracie Square Art show and everyone involved was blessed with a stunning weather day here in NYC. Yours truly got to stop by and peruse a number of the booths to be found within. Lots of beautiful work on display by quite a few talented artists. I asked several of them if I could take photos of their work for the sake of sharing online and they were happy to oblige.

Here below are the artists I had the pleasure of briefly meeting at the fair. Click on any ensuing photo for a larger version.

Amongst them is Jorge Caligiuri, (www.jorgecaligiuriart.com) whose most interesting series of artwork immediately caught my eye. He’s been participating at the fair for 6-7 years now.

Next in line is Domenico Belli’s (www.domenicobelli.com) metal art sculptures; the sort of artwork I’ve got an undeniable soft spot for. As I understood it he’s been taking part in this show “a very long time”.

Amazingly it would be Sharon Strine’s (www.sharonstrineart.com) first year at the show. I say amazing since you can easily tell from her work how talented she is.

Then there’s Kerream Jones (www.kerreamjones.com) who’s been participating with his beautiful pieces for a whopping 15 years. I was very much taken with the imagery and the use of color in his work.

Last but not least would be Robert Goldwitz (www.robertgoldwitz.com) and his gorgeous collection of photographic prints. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I appreciate great photography and Mr. Goldwitz’ work is no exception. He’s been a shutterbug all his life and has been at the show for 10 years now.

In closing, I regret not having been able to meet with more artists. I hope you’re able to stop by at the Gracie Square Art show and demonstrate your support not merely for them, but as well for the organization behind the show. Remember that proceeds benefit the restoration and maintenance of Carl Schurz Park.
