Governor Cuomo today announced that 27 establishments (bars/restaurants) were issued violations by the New York State Liquor Authority. This brings the total number since Friday to 132.
52 were issued on Friday, 53 on Saturday and 27 last night on Sunday.
“The second situation that we’re watching is lack of compliance, that’s particularly among young people, that’s particularly among bars and restaurants. That’s not unique to New York,” said Governor Cuomo. “Even the President of the United States said young people shouldn’t go into packed bars. He said packed bars. But it’s a national problem. I’ve said every day for weeks local governments are not doing what they need to do and they have to step up. The state will be doing everything they can with the most aggressive enforcement mechanism.”
He later made mention, in response to a question, that there have been in total “40 establishments that have already had their licenses suspended. 10 since Friday.”
