Game Of Thrones Season 4 Re-Watch
Re-experiencing the show.
Having just finished re-watching the fourth season of Game of Thrones months since its first broadcast I sit here with the realization that I’ve witnessed great dramatic genius. The likes of which I could only hope to have witnessed on the big screen within the past year. Lord knows I’ve watched enough disappointing films in 2014. Now, I’m not 100% sure but I’ve the feeling that my having originally been disappointed in the last few episodes of the season had to do with my cheating. That is, looking around for hints online as to what was to come next. Something I’m usually not prone to doing. But what can I say except, at the time, one peek led to another which in turn lead to more. ‘and so when it came to episodes 8, 9 and 10 I found myself feeling shortchanged much like so many folks do when watching the screen version of a favorite novel that’s managed to fall short of one’s expectations. Thing is I never read the ‘GOT’ novels. All I knew going forward aside from the ‘next episode’ previews was what others had posted online.
So here I am happy to have had a second chance to experience anew the last season with an almost totally fresh mind. I say ‘fresh’ considering how much I’d forgotten since I’d last watched these episodes. In fact I’d reached a emotional state with that last episode, the tenth of the season. Although I can’t help but think that watching the season one episode after another expands upon the experience greatly as opposed to having the episodes spaced out one week at a time. Regardless of what the answer might be I vow to never cheat again. Here’s to the next season!
