Farm to Tray

A sustainable food & wine benefit for Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen

Farm to Tray is a celebration of food and community at the soup kitchen, inviting well-respected culinary figures from across the City to create sustainable, nutritious menus that mirror our vision for nourishing New Yorkers struggling with poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

On May 14, 2020, Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen will host its 8th Annual Farm to Tray, a culmination of our year-round campaign to bring attention and resources to the issues of hunger, sustainability, and food waste, while also strengthening our ability to improve the lives of our fellow New Yorkers through meal outreach and social service programs.

Since 2013, Farm to Tray has raised nearly $2.3 million in cash and in-kind support and introduced over 100 new partnerships to Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen. The success of Farm to Tray can be attributed to the soup kitchen’s core group of dedicated volunteers, culinary figures, and corporate partners who lend their time, talent, and resources to raise much needed funds to feed and lift up hungry New Yorkers.

We have enjoyed the diverse and generous sponsorship support from such companies as dcc, Google, Jamestown, Lindenmyr Munroe, and Whole Foods Market. The soup kitchen and its esteemed Farm to Tray campaign have been featured in a variety of media outlets, including The New York TimesWall Street Journal, Good Morning America, BronxNetUSA Today, and the Huffington Post. Benefit attendees have included longtime soup kitchen supporter Susan Sarandon, award-winning journalist Ian Frazier, and the illustrious James Beard Foundation.
