Watch the Eclipse Safely

Information courtesy of the Queens Library

The solar eclipse is coming! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event (the last total eclipse visible in the United States happened in 1979!) and it’s going to take place on Monday, August 21. Queens Library will be holding special programs leading up to the eclipse, including an “Eclipsecon” movie series and, of course, viewings of the eclipse on August 21 at several of our community libraries.

Note: Solar Eclipse glasses will be available only at our viewing events, and only for event participants, on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Here are some safety tips and other viewing techniques for watching Monday’s solar eclipse!
