    Join the Wyckoff Farmhouse museum for a day-long extravaganza of crafting, creating and hands-on fun celebrating Breukelen’s agricultural roots! Families & Friends—learn from the past and present how Breukelen grows!

    Breukelen Country Fair celebrates agriculture, food, & our community roots this fall at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum!

    New York City’s oldest house hosts annual festival, celebrating the harvest season, our local community, and Brooklyn’s rich agricultural history. The 4 rd annual Breukelen Country Fair takes place Saturday, September 26 th , 2015 at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum from 1 to 5 pm, presented by the Wyckoff House Museum and Council Member Jumaane D. Williams. This day-long extravaganza of local growing, urban homesteading, and creativity reinterprets the traditional harvest fest and boasts an array of games, crafts, local food, music, homesteading demonstrations, and family-friendly workshops led by Brooklyn-based partners. Moms, dads, kids and friends: learn from the past and present how Breukelen does it best!

    Activities will include a showing of Tales of Brier Rabbit by City Parks Foundation’s PuppetMobile at 1:30pm. Performances by Sesame Flyer’s Steel Pan Orchestra , and Afro-Caribbean Dance and Drum Company, Batingua Arts will celebrate Brooklyn’s caribbean roots and traditions. Kids 13 and under can enjoy pony rides with Brooklyn’s own Kensington stables ponies. Spend the day outside on some of the last remaining farmland in New York city. Take home farm-grown produce from the pop-up farmer’s market, grab some seeds from the seed swap, and learn about urban agriculture, soil and growing your own food. Ongoing activities for kids and grown-ups include cider pressing, facepainting, music, photobooth, scavenger hunts, races, crafts, games, and demos.

    Feast on farm fresh food, locally sourced snacks and other homemade treats from the Wyckoff farm. Finish off the day with a tour of New York City’s oldest house—not to be missed! Bring the whole family for a day of outdoor playing, learning and fun, celebrating the traditions, community, and agriculture of Breukelen!
