Guests to Enjoy Film Festival Screenings, Virtual Reality Drone Tours, Tournament-Style Drone Fights, & Custom Drone Expo

Jersey City, NJ — February 16, 2016 — On March 6, Liberty Science Center (LSC) and the New York City Drone Film Festival (NYCDFF) will host “Day of Drones,” a high-flying celebration of drones, their pilots, and the award-winning films made from the drones’ unique perspective. Participants will enjoy all things drone including screenings of the films and interactive activities at LSC.

“Liberty Science Center is proud to partner with the NYCDFF to bring cutting-edge technology to our guests in such a visually stunning way,” said Paul Hoffman, President and CEO of LSC, and Member of the 2016 NYCDFF Jury. “As the drone-building and drone-filmmaking community grows, we can serve as a community resource–teaching people of all ages how drones work and how to fly them.”

Visitors can expect to see incredible footage captured by drone in the NYCDFF film screenings, meet the area’s leading drone builders and pilots as they show off their skills through unique demonstrations, and feel the power of flight via First Person View goggles in an immersive virtual reality experience.

“The NYCDFF team is excited to partner with Liberty Science Center for ‘Day of Drones’,” said festival founder and director Randy Scott Slavin. “The Science Center’s commitment to sharing the magic of drones will help introduce the wonder of drones and drone filmmaking to a whole new audience.”
