Grand Central Terminal will transform into a yoga destination with its second annual “Grand Zentral” event in celebration of National Yoga Month. Pure Yoga instructors will teach free yoga classes on September 15 throughout the day under the Beaux-Arts chandeliers and architecture of Vanderbilt Hall.Attendees will receive free yoga mats and complimentary coconut water courtesy of Vita Coco, along with a Vita Coco swag bag filled with Skinny Pop Popcorn, diptyque infused facial water, a New York Yoga + Life Magazine, Bare Snacks, and items from select Grand Central Terminal vendors.
Classes filled up quickly last year with long wait lines before each class. Hundreds are expected to take part again this year. For those who aren’t able to register in advance, names will be added to a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis that day in Vanderbilt Hall.
By attending a class, participants will have the chance to participate in a raffle and earn a prize at the end of each class. One lucky winner from each class will receive a one-week membership to Pure Yoga, a case of Vita Coco Coconut Water and a $25 gift card to Juice Press, which has a new shop in Grand Central’s Shuttle Passage. The grand prize winner will receive a one-month membership to Pure Yoga, a one month supply of Vita Coco and a $50 gift card to Juice Press.
In addition to classes, three vendors are setting up temporary shop on the Main Concourse Bridge adjacent to Vanderbilt Hall. Aveda will offer massages and hair braiding, Café Grumpy will offer cold brew coffee, and Vita Coco will offer free coconut water.
