    Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party-mad Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? Songs, laughs, and fun for children aged 3 and up. Performance with Chinese subtitles.

     

    INTERACTIVE ARTS WORKSHOP AT 3:45 pm

    $8/$5 Children/FREE for members with tickets to 2:00 pm show

    Find out how to create a story in pictures, how to create a character using your body, and then tell your own story in small groups. The workshop is a fast-moving, enjoyable introduction to storytelling in theatre using games, freeze frames, and well-known tales. Lots of fun – dress in comfortable clothes!

    (Flushing, N.Y.) – On February 17 and 18, Tall Stories brings its captivating musical adaptation of a classic picture book from the U.K. to Flushing Town Hall with The Gruffalo Live on Stage. Based on “The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, this production has told the beloved story of Mouse on stages across the world, from Asia to Europe—and now, to Queens!

    The Gruffalo Live on Stage has received such wonderful feedback across Britain and the world, so we are delighted to bring this renowned show to Flushing for two performances this February.     This enchanting production features catchy songs, loud laughs, physical theatre, and the perfect amount of scary fun to children ages 3 years old and up and their grown-ups!     After the performance, young guests can participate in an interactive arts workshop that includes an enjoyable introduction to storytelling in theatre using games, freeze frames, and well-known tales.

    Tall Stories was founded in 1997 by joint Artistic Directors Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell, who co-create all of the company’s shows. Tall Stories is a registered charity which has become internationally recognized for its exciting blend of storytelling theatre and original music. The company has performed all over the U.K., as well as Poland, China, Taiwan, the United States, and Canada.

    Tickets to the family shows are $14/$10 Members/$8 Children/$6 Member Children, and tickets to the interactive arts workshops are $8/$5 Children/free for members with tickets to the 2:00 PM show.     This winter and Spring, Flushing Town Hall will continue to open its doors to teenagers – for free. Under the “Teen Access Program”, which is designed to appeal to students and help foster a greater love in the arts and culture, all 13- to 19-year-olds (whether a member or not) are welcome to attend any performance for free.

    Flushing Town Hall is accessible by car, bus, train and foot – located a short distance from the 7 train – at 137-35 Northern Blvd., in Flushing, Queens. Access for wheelchair users and individuals with limited mobility is available.
