The Autumn Moon Festival spotlights Snug Harbor’s NY Chinese Scholar’s Garden and pays tribute to the seasonal harvest fest in East Asia, which dates back to at least 2000 B.C.
This celebration of Asian culture aligns with harvest festivals such as China’s Zhongqiu Jie, Japan’s Fukushima Autumn, Thailand’s Loy Krathong Festival and Vietnam’s Tet Trung Thu, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest.
