    2018 Summer Movie Series Lineup

    Free Outdoor Screenings to Take Place on Intrepid’s Flight Deck Under the Stars

    The Intrepid Summer Movie Series returns this summer with a selection of six feature films. Members of the public are invited to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to the Intrepid Museum to view the films outdoors, free of charge, on a huge inflatable screen on the Flight Deck of the historic aircraft carrier located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue). The movie series will open with the annual screening of Top Gun on Friday, May 25, kicking off Memorial Day weekend.  Doors open at 7:00pm and the movie will begin at sunset.

    The lineup for the 2018 Intrepid Summer Movie Series is: 

    Friday, May 25: Top Gun

    Friday, June 29: Wonder Woman (2017)

    Friday, July 13: Friday the 13th (1980)

    Friday, July 27: Dunkirk

    Friday, August 10: Ghostbusters (1984)

    The last movie night on Friday, August 24 will feature a community choice pick. They’d love to hear from you! Please tell them which film out of the 5 below you’d like to see shown on the last movie night:

    1. Blade Runner (1982)
    2. Airplane! (1980)
    3. Disney Pixar’s Planes (2013)
    4. The Hunt for Red October (1990)
    5. The Breakfast Club (1985)

    Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Food and beverages are available for purchase onsite. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Alcohol is not permitted on Intrepid’s flight deck. All exits are final; there is no reentry allowed.

    Prior to the doors opening, Guided Tours of the submarine Growler, the Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Pavilion will be available at 6:00pm. Tours require a non-refundable ticket and take place rain or shine.

    Intrepid Museum members will receive priority access to the screenings. The Intrepid Museum strives to make all public programs accessible for people with disabilities and these films are all captioned for the hearing impaired.
