The 11th Annual Veggie Pride Parade

“”VEGGIE PRIDE PARADE celebrates Veganism. It exercises the First Amendment rights of those who oppose violence against other animals. All are welcome—whether vegan and/or just vegan-curious.— Join them in the parade and festivities afterwards, which will include vegan speakers, a costume contest, animal-protection organizations, food, networking opportunities… and new this year, a Political Discussion Panel at 4 p.m., and Afterparty & Buffet at VSPOT Organic featuring the first ever US-based “Plant-Powered Comedy Show”!

To march in the parade, meet at 11 a.m. at approximately 40 Gansevoort Street in the old meatpacking district (where 9th and Gansevoort intersect). People are encouraged to wear ‘veggie-pride’-themed costumes and bring signs! The procession begins at noon! Groups welcome!

The march will culminate in Union Square Park North at approximately 1 p.m. where the party continues! Come hear 22 vegan speakers, visit with 35 exhibitors and enjoy many vegan performers in various art forms! There is a costume contest at 2 p.m. and a political panel at 4 p.m. and an afterparty at 6:30 p.m.  Throughout the day in the park, individuals are encouraged to speak their mind at the “Testimonial Station.”””
