As with so many other cultural institutions, tourist attractions and businesses the Empire State Building’s been closed since March due to the COVID-19 Crisis and Governor Cuomo’s Lockdown of New York City.
Now, the locale will be reopening on July 20, 2020. The first day of NYC’s entry into Phase 4.
Some official words from their site:
For the first few weeks, hours of operation will be reduced to 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets for set times can be purchased at www.esbnyc.com. Initial capacity will be reduced by more than 80% to only 500 guests in the Observatories’ 70,000 square foot space at a time, and well below the 25% capacity guideline set forth in Phase 4. This policy will allow for the separation of groups by more than 18 feet.
