Attorney General James Responds to Trump’s Unfounded Attacks Presented in His Speech Today

In response to President Trump’s speech concerning supposed voter fraud, which appeared on Youtube earlier in the day, Attorney General Letitia James issued the following statement.

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James tonight released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s unfounded remarks earlier in which he made attacks on the integrity of last month’s election and complained about an ongoing investigation into the Trump Organization:

“As the independently elected attorney general of New York, I have a sworn duty to protect and uphold state law. Last year, after Michael Cohen’s testimony, our office opened an investigation into the financial dealings of the Trump Organization. That investigation continues today. Unlike the president and the unfounded accusations he hurled today, we are guided by the facts and the law, and the politics stop at the door. Period.”

We won’t be posting the actual video since it’s filled with unproven claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Should you be interested in seeking it out then the title of the video is: “This may be the most important speech I’ve ever made….”

Some of Trump’s words from his over 46 minute speech features the following as they pertain to that which the Attorney General was responding to:

Trump: “Now I hear that these same people that failed to get me in Washington have sent every piece of information to New York so that they can try to get me there. It’s all been gone over, over and over again. For $48 million you go through tax returns, through everything.

The New York Attorney General, who recently ran for office, campaigned without knowing me stating “we will join with law enforcement and other attorneys general across this nation in removing this president from office.” I never met him. “It’s important that everybody understands,” she said “that the days of Donald Trump are coming to an end.” And all it’s been is a big investigation in Washington and New York and anyplace that can investigate because that’s what they wanna do. They want to take, not me, but us down. And we can never let them do that.”
