Run to End Alzheimer’s!

Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter Is Now Recruiting Runners to Join Team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon

The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter is now recruiting runners to join team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon and help raise money to end Alzheimer’s.  Since its inception in 2009, team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” has raised $1.8 million.

The marathon takes place on Sunday, November 2, 2014 and travels through all five boroughs of New York City.

Team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” will provide its athletes with an in-person and online training program with amazing coaches, free gear, personalized online fundraising page and support, a wonderful community of runners, a pre-race carb dinner, private transportation to the starting line, a post-race thank you reception, and much more.

The Chapter will notify all applicants of their status by the end of April.

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” members who do not have a guaranteed spot in the 2014 marathon are required to raise a minimum of $3,500 by November 30, 2014. In addition, these runners are responsible to pay New York Road Runners (organizer of the TCS NYC Marathon) the standard runner entry fee for the ING New York City Marathon upon successful registration for the race in September.
  • Team “Athletes to End Alzheimer’s” members who already have guaranteed entry into the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon are required to raise a minimum of $1,500 by November 30, 2014.

ROLLING APPLICATION DEADLINES:  The initial deadline is Wednesday, April 16, 2014.  The Chapter will extend the deadline on a rolling basis until the team is complete.
