More than 300 Cuddly, Adoptable Dogs, Cats and Bunnies at the

Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals Adoption Event

Sunday, September 8, 2013 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Union Square Park (north end)

BASSET_HThe Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, in partnership with the Petco Foundation, invites you to Adoptapalooza – a fun event for the whole family where you can meet more than 300 lovable dogs, cats and bunnies, all of whom are available for adoption.

The afternoon event also includes a free Kids Korner with activities that include face painting, balloon sculptures, tattoos, and caricature drawings. A special emergency preparedness clinic will offer low-cost ($25) microchipping for cats and dogs; dog licensing for only $8.50 ($34 for animals that have not been spayed/neutered); free pet ID tags, and information about how pet owners can prepare for the unexpected.

Throughout the afternoon, pet food giveaways and Petco training sessions for dogs will be offered, and author Ken Foster will sign his newest book, I’m A Good Dog. Rock and Rawhide, a non-profit organization that facilitates adoptions by making sure pets are calm and comfortable, will collect clean blankets, sheets and pet toys for animal shelters.
