Recent political discourse meant to move the US towards limiting the movement and activities of Muslims feels to many to have echoes of 1930’s fascism.   Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and the disasters of the past century’s experiment with this hateful ideology, some of those on the far right feel we should resurrect some practices from this heinous ideology to win against terrorists in the Middle East.  But just as former fascist regimes were blind to the root causes of social unrest, these arguments fail to grasp the real reasons for the Middle East conflict.  Using environmental models this talk will show why targeting Muslims in no way will reduce one of the most pervasive causes of terrorism in the Middle East; global warming.
