    The National Weather Service has extended the Heat Advisory for New York City until 7:00 PM tomorrow, 7/8. The heat index is expected to be in the mid 90s through tomorrow evening. High heat indices are dangerous to health, avoid strenuous activity. People without air conditioning, older adults, and people with chronic health conditions are most at risk. Cooling centers will be open. In addition, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for New York City for today until 11:00 PM and tomorrow, 7/8, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Active children, adults, and people with lung disease such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
