“”WAFF, the not-for-profit organization founded by musician, Nile Rodgers is dedicated to the inception and development of a global family accomplished by creating and supporting programs that promote cultural diversity while nurturing the vision, talents and ideas of young people positively changing the world.
U2 frontman, Bono, will receive this year’s We Are Family Foundation Humanitarian Award, awarded to one who has made tremendous efforts and inroads towards improving the human condition on a global scale. President Jimmy Carter will be honored with the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award, awarded to one who has made significant contributions towards the promotion of a peaceful society.
The evening will be held at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom, beginning with a reception at 6:30PM followed by dinner, programs and a live concert featuring Nile Rodgers & CHIC and Bono at 7:30PM.””
