Scientists at Home: The Deep Ocean
This Thursday, at 2 pm ET, watch live on the Museum’s Facebook page as Museum Research Associate Mercer Brugler shows some captivating photos and footage from some of the farthest ocean depths known. Get to know some of the inhabitants of the dark regions of the sea, and learn how scientists study these remote locations. Send a photo of an ocean critter, your name, and location to [email protected] to participate.
Birds of Prey Nests, Eggs, and Hatchlings
This Friday, May 15, at 1:30 pm ET, join Museum ornithologist Paul Sweet and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology experts Charles Eldermire and Ben Walters for a live YouTube Watch Party to see eggs, nests, and hatchlings of birds of prey including Red-tailed Hawks, Osprey, and Barred Owls. Sweet will be sharing shots from the Museum’s collection and answering questions live alongside the Cornell Lab’s experts.
Trivia Night: A Game of Bones

Calling all paleontology nerds! Pour yourself a glass of your favorite drink, and join us for this virtual trivia evening game co-hosted by the Museum and the NYC Trivia League. Gather a team or play solo to demonstrate your superior knowledge of dinosaurs, fossils, extinct mammals and more. Winners will get a chance to participate in an exclusive virtual happy hour featuring Museum scientists sharing stories from the field.
