Uptown Bounce: 2016
Wednesdays: July 27, August 3, August 10 and August 17
6:00 to 9:00 pm
Uptown Bounce takes place on the Museum’s front terraces on consecutive Wednesday nights (this year July 27, August 3, August 10, and August 17) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Both museums, located next door to each other on Fifth Avenue at 104th Street, will offer free admission and extended hours. The block parties are open to visitors of all ages and advance registration is required. For more information, and to RSVP, visit www.mcny.org or www.elmuseo.org.
“Nothing says it’s summer in the city like a block party hosted by two of East Harlem’s premier cultural institutions,” said Whitney Donhauser, Ronay Menschel Director of the Museum of the City of New York. “We are proud to partner once more with El Museo to continue what has become a joyful and popular summertime tradition at the top of Museum Mile. Uptown Bounce is a perfect opportunity for New Yorkers of all ages, interests, and dancing abilities to experience the best both museums and the East Harlem community have to offer.”
“At the heart of Uptown Bounce are two cultural institutions coming together to celebrate creativity and community,” said Jorge Daniel Veneciano, El Museo del Barrio’s Executive Director. “We are excited to partner once again with the Museum of City of New York and continue to bring this free experience to New Yorkers over the summer at the top of Museum Mile.”
