    “Understanding Dementia for Caregivers”

    On Thursday, January 5th, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Queens residents are invited to attend a special educational meeting, “Understanding Dementia for Caregivers” hosted by CaringKind,  NYC’s leading experts in Alzheimer’s and dementia care for more than three decades.  CaringKind is formerly known as the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter.

    The free meeting is designed specifically for family and friends who are caring for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia.  It will provide helpful information about the disease and introduce caregivers to the free resources and services  available at CaringKind to help them cope with present and future challenges. For this meeting, people with dementia for whom they are caring are also invited to attend with their caregivers.

    Cheshire Schanker, Caring Kind’s Queens Outreach Social Worker, will lead the meeting which will take place at AHS Caring Communities in ASTORIA QUEENS.
