TRIBECA DRIVE-IN OUTDOOR SCREENINGS

Tribeca Drive-In movie series on the waterfront plaza at Brookfield Place, sponsored by AT&T and hosted by Brookfield Place. The series will kick off on Thursday, April 17 with the 50^th anniversary screening of the classic Disney film Mary Poppins, the 30^th anniversary of Ron Howard’s Splash starring Tom Hanks, John Candy, and Daryl Hannah on Friday, April 18, and closing with the world premiere screening of the soccer documentary Next Goal Wins on Saturday, April 19.

TFF’s outdoor screening series features the following films for this year’s Tribeca Drive-In. The free evening of cinema under the stars is open to the public, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open and programs begin at 6 p.m., with screenings starting at dusk (approximately 8:15 p.m.).

Mary Poppins  – Thursday, April 17

When the American Samoan national soccer team suffered the world’s worst defeat, losing to Australia 31-0, these tiny islands crash-landed into last place in FIFA world rankings, and became known as “the worst team in the world.” More than a decade later, they have not yet won an official match. Next Goal Wins follows their miraculous efforts as they train for the next World Cup. Led by an eccentric new coach, they have a chance to redefine their international reputation.
