Picking up where “The Making of a King” left off, contention for the English throne is once again in the air in “The War of the Roses.” Symbolized by the simple plucking of a red or a white rose, a line is forever drawn between the Lancaster and York factions stretching past Joan of Arc, past the murderous Queen Margaret, and all the way to one of the Bard’s most remarkable villains, Richard III.
