    Sir John Falstaff, Shakespeare’s notorious “Fat Knight,” returns in a comedy of love and lessons. Queen Elizabeth herself adored the character of Falstaff in Henry IV so much that she wished him to have his own comedy. Therefore, by royal decree, Shakespeare puts Sir John through his paces by way of Mistress Ford and Mistress Page in this playfully dear/deer comedy.
