The Grand Central Centennial
Holiday Light Show presented by Toshiba
November 21 through December 26, 2013
Daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm
The Holiday Light Show makes its return to Grand Central Terminal for its centennial year. The show will take place in the famous windows of the Terminal on the west side above Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse NYC and Cipiani Dolci. This new light show will light up the Terminal’s Main Concourse this holiday season.
Vivid colors, shapes and animations will transform Grand Central Terminal’s Main Concourse this holiday season, as the new “Grand Central Centennial Holiday Light Show,” debuts on November 21 in the windows above the Terminal’s west balcony. The Holiday Light Show will be on display daily through Dec. 26, 2013, with eight-minute shows beginning each evening at 5 p.m, and running every half-hour until 11 p.m. In between each show, a 22-minute ambient light presentation will illuminate the Terminal.
Grand Central has teamed with Toshiba, a world-leading manufacturer and solutions provider of advanced electronics and systems, to create a state-of-the-art light show never seen before in the Terminal. The theme of the light show will evolve with the holiday season. A Thanksgiving version runs through November 28, followed by a winter holiday-themed show through December 26.
The Grand Central Centennial Holiday Light Show is one of three marquee events taking place in the Terminal this holiday season. The Grand Central Centennial Holiday Fair, presented by Shaw Floors, is open to shoppers every day through December 25 in Vanderbilt Hall. The New York Transit Museum’s annual Holiday Train Show is open in the Museum’s Gallery Annex. A holiday edition of the Terminal’s popular Grand Central Rewards shopping program runs through the holiday season, offering limited edition Centennial gifts to shoppers who spend a minimum of $50 at Grand Central retailers.
