The Cathedral of St. John the Divine hosts its annual Halloween Extravaganza on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan.
Enter if you dare! Guests will be spooked as the Cathedral of St. John the Divine screens The Phantom of the Opera (1925) complete with live organ accompaniment. Following the film, the full stretch of the Cathedral’s Nave is at the disposal of the Mettawee River Theater Company’s fantastic creatures of the night, led by Cathedral Artist in Residence Ralph Lee. Visitors are encouraged to brace themselves for increased ghostly mischief and ghoulish tricks. Seats closest to the action are for the bravest at heart, who may find themselves directly confronted with the hooked nose of a demon, the mossy nails of a witch, or the bulging, flushed cheeks of a ghostly manchild.
Tickets are available for $25. To purchase tickets for the 7:00 p.m. showing, please visit this page. To purchase tickets for the 10:00 p.m. showing, please visit this page.
